Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Two Special Education Teachers are needed to support elementary students in a dynamic school setting in Ypsilanti, MI. This full-time, full-semester contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cognitive Impairments (CI). Location: Ypsilanti, MI Position Type: Full Semester Contract Start Date: ASAP - June 5, 2026 Caseload: Elementary ASD and CI rooms One 2nd/3rd grade classroom One 4th/5th grade classroom Qualifications and Experience: Active Michigan Special Education (SPED) teaching license required Experience working with elementary students in special education settings, preferably with ASD and CI populations Strong classroom management skills and ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Collaborative approach to working with staff, families, and therapists Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities Manage and support classrooms for multiple grade levels and disability profiles Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and progress Maintain accurate records and conduct regular assessments Collaborate with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other professionals to foster student success Benefits: Opportunity to gain experience with diverse special education populations Supportive work environment focused on student growth and teacher development Contract position with defined time frame Qualified candidates with an active MI Special Education license are encouraged to apply promptly.
