The Midtown South Community Council is seeking an experienced volunteer to help with grant research and writing.
Midtown South Community Council is a small non-profit organization that is poised to grow and expand. It is critical to our goals to find general operational funding and particularly funding the salary for a full or part-time grant writer. In the short term, a pro bono grant writer is needed to find these funds and establish an organized grant-making process.
-Understand the Mission, Goals, and current programs of MSCC.
-Collaborate with the Executive Director and with members of the Board Finance Committee.
-Identify grant funding opportunities.
-Write, submit, and manage grant proposals.
-Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents.
-Prepare grant reports as required by funders.
-Develop or use current available system(s) to track grant applications.
-Maintain records in our computer database.
-Monitor compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
This project, with the right help, will bring in more resources and allow us to strengthen our efforts. The Midtown South Community Council is a nonprofit focused on the key destabilizing issues that affect people's lives. We provide intersectional, community-driven solutions to the housing, hunger, and health crises. Our team doesn't have experience with grant writing, and we want to be as strategic about our efforts as possible, which is why the support and guidance of a volunteer is a key priority.
To prepare for the project, we're ready to share background information about our organization, our messaging, and any other required documents or statistics needed for the grant writing process. You'll have a dedicated team member to work with you on this project.
The Midtown South Community Council was established in 1983 in New York City to enhance quality of life by addressing the concerns of its residents and local businesses: trash collection, tree planting, criminal offenses, and other issues.
We've outgrown those old interests: After studying the roots of the primary complaints of the community, we decidedly took on the core issues (health, hunger, homelessness, and housing) preventing us from reaching our true potential.
