Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, program-level oversight, and subject matter expertise in testing methodologies for large-scale, safety-critical FAA systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs.
In this position, you will:
Lead the development of enterprise-level test strategies, test plans, and methodologies.
Oversee system, integration, performance, and acceptance testing across FAA workstreams.
Provide subject matter expertise on testing processes, standards, and best practices.
Manage and mentor test engineers and analysts, ensuring consistency and quality.
Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.
Ensure all testing complies with FAA standards, NIST RMF, FISMA, and safety frameworks.
Direct the use of test automation, simulation, and validation tools for efficiency.
Prepare and deliver executive-level reports, dashboards, and risk assessments.
Support FAA leadership in test readiness reviews, certification, and accreditation activities.
Prepare audit-ready test documentation and compliance reports.

Knowledge of FAA Safety Management System (SMS) and how safety integrates into testing.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to brief FAA leadership.
Professional certifications such as ISTQB Test Manager, PMP, SAFe Release Train Engineer, or CSTE.
Experience supporting FAA NextGen modernization programs or NAS testing initiatives.
Background in aviation, aerospace, or defense systems testing.
Familiarity with ICAO standards and international aviation safety testing practices.
Experience with automated regression frameworks, digital twins, or advanced simulation environments.

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
