Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Driver / Appliance Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of household appliances, their delivery, and professional installation. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in various environments. The Driver will also act as the lead on project sites.
* If you are applying as a sub-contractor, you are required to have a Box (Straight) Truck
Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain a box truck safely and efficiently for local deliveries.
Load and unload household appliances by utilizing an appliance dolly.
Be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs and utilize the appliance dolly for larger appliances.
Safely transport, deliver, and professionally install a variety of household appliances (e.g., refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, hood, dishwashers, etc.) in residential and commercial settings.
Prepare installation areas, including laying down protective coverings and moving obstacles.
Assist with clean-up after installations are complete, ensuring the work area is tidy.
Take a proactive lead role on project sites, ensuring all team members adhere to company safety guidelines and best practices.
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and installations, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Adapt to and work effectively in various outside working conditions, including diverse weather and environmental factors.
Be open and willing to participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge (as needed).
Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company driving policies.
* This position does NOT involve electrical or plumbing work beyond standard appliance connections.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience driving a box truck. Be willing to take a road test and pass.
Ability to consistently lift and move objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
Proficiency in using an appliance dolly and other relevant PPE.
Comfortable working in diverse outside weather and environmental conditions.
Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety guidelines among team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
High school diploma or equivalent.
No experience in appliance delivery or installation. We will train to ensure you understand the Texas Installs, LLC safety and installation procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 100 lbs) frequently.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
