Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
Location: Winnebago, IL

Job Details

• Full-time, onsite position

• School-based setting

• Placement across grade levels (details shared during interview)

• Start date flexible based on candidate availability

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Community Interpreter License or ISBE SLI approval (required)

• Minimum 3.5 EIPA score (preferred)

• Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Sign Language Interpreter Job Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation between students and school staff in classrooms and school activities

• Ensure access to instructional content, peer communication, and school events

• Adapt signing method and register to match student needs

• Collaborate with general education and special education staff

• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all educational settings

• Follow IEP or 504 Plan guidelines and support student success in the learning environment
