The Shell Norco site is in the process of hiring experienced operators for the 1st quarter of 2026. The Process Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation and equipment maintenance. The Process Operator is expected to recognize and take corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with Shell Norco safety, environmental, and operating policies and procedures.
Typical duties and responsibilities of field and console operators include, but are not limited to the following requirements:

With proper training, you must be willing and able to lift 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation and able to use safe lifting techniques with the use of heavy equipment. Be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to work at heights; climb ladders and stairs; walk on high elevation grating; work in inclement weather; work around loud industrial equipment; work in compact and confined spaces; and work outdoors. Be willing and able to work a rotating shift work schedule. Be willing and able to work overtime (voluntary and forced), holidays, nights, and weekends.
The starting pay for process operator is based on the union contract and is currently at $40.93/hr. For regular full-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
