Job Title: Hospice Recruiter

Department: Human Resources / Talent Acquisition
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Job Summary:

The Hospice Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates for hospice care positions, including nurses, social workers, aides, and administrative staff. This role ensures the organization meets staffing needs to deliver compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care. The recruiter partners closely with hiring managers and HR to develop strategies that support timely, compliant, and culturally aligned hiring practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates for hospice-related positions including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, and other support roles.

  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline through networking, job boards, community partnerships, and industry events.

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, candidate outreach, interviews, offers, and onboarding coordination.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies tailored to each role.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws and hospice industry standards.

  • Promote the organization's mission and values to prospective candidates.

  • Track and report on recruiting metrics and progress toward hiring goals.

  • Represent the organization at job fairs, nursing schools, and healthcare recruitment events.

  • Assist with workforce planning, retention strategies, and employee engagement initiatives when needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in healthcare or hospice/palliative care.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of healthcare recruitment practices.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and sourcing tools.

    • Ability to manage multiple roles and deadlines.

    • Knowledge of hospice care values and regulations is a plus.
