Savanna is committed to providing a unique and holistic learning experience for children aged 0 to 5 years old, integrating the principles of Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, STEM, and RIE pedagogies. Our teachers undergo specialized training within our school to ensure optimal teaching conditions and a deep understanding of our innovative approach. With a low teacher-to-student ratio, we prioritize individualized attention and foster a warm, collaborative atmosphere among our team.

The role

We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) infant teacher who is eager to embrace our distinctive pedagogical approach and committed to continuous learning and professional development. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Spanish and English, have a minimum of one year of teaching experience with infants, and be open to innovative educational methods.

Candidates must be physically able to move throughout the classroom and outdoor environments, stand for extended periods, and lift heavy loads as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement a dynamic curriculum that stimulates curiosity and creativity, incorporating language, literacy, cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth— in both Spanish and English .
• Maintain a comprehensive classroom portfolio, documenting learning experiences and observations in alignment with Savanna's standards.
• Foster a safe and nurturing bilingual environment conducive to children’s development, in accordance with state regulations and our teaching philosophy.
• Collaborate closely with families, including Spanish-speaking families, to support the holistic growth and development of children.
• Participate in regular family conferences, providing updates in both English and Spanish as needed.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, passion for learning, and a collaborative spirit within the team.
• Work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience with infants
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (required)

Desired Qualifications

• Training in  Reggio Emilia and/or Waldorf education approaches
• Experience in a  university laboratory school
• Montessori certification or background
• CPR Certification (preferred)
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
