Dispatcher - 3-6 Month Contract with potential extensions

Location: Napa, CA

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay: $28/hour

Contract Duration: 3 months

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of construction materials, ensuring timely and efficient service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Order Management: Receive and process customer orders, primarily via telephone, but also through radio communications from drivers, service or sales representatives, and occasionally in person. Assist customers in identifying the appropriate products needed for specific end uses. Advise customers on company order confirmation and delivery policies. Record customer orders through internal dispatching systems and schedule and book orders for future delivery as received.
• Scheduling and Dispatching: Coordinate and dispatch drivers or staff according to daily schedules. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the day.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve scheduling conflicts, delivery issues, and customer inquiries promptly. Report any delivery problems to service or sales representatives for quick resolution or mitigation.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of customer orders, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered. Complete daily reports on product sales, product allowances and adjustments, delivery problems, and other matters.
• Collaboration: Work closely with plant operators, loader operators, drivers, and batch plant operators to ensure orders are loaded onto trucks correctly and delivered to the appropriate job sites.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or related fields is a plus.
• Proven experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using dispatching software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
