VisitPITTSBURGH is a tourism development organization dedicated to expanding the tourism economy across Allegheny County. The organization generates a positive economic impact across the tourism verticals of business events, sports, and leisure travel. VisitPITTSBURGH achieves its goals, including ensuring the region of certain economic benefits, through the combined efforts of all team members throughout the organization.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Creative Content Specialist will play a key role in shaping and executing VisitPITTSBURGH’s visual storytelling across campaigns, events, and digital platforms. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on creative work, project management, and the chance to collaborate on marketing initiatives—all while advancing skills in graphic design, photography, and video production.

Essential Functions

  • Conceptualization, design, and execution of creative assets, including digital ads, social graphics, brochures, presentations, and event collateral.
  • Capture and produce professional-grade photography and video at events, partner locations, and other key activities to support storytelling efforts.
  • Edit and produce high-quality photos and video content for websites, social media, and other marketing channels, ensuring visual consistency and organizational storytelling.
  • Manage design and production for publications (e.g., Insider’s Guide, See & Do Guide, visitor maps) by determining layout, style, and working with production and agency partners to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage and curate VisitPITTSBURGH’s digital asset library to support efficient access and use across the department.
  • Develop and maintain creative standards and systems to enable quick cross-team and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Provide creative direction and design for VisitPITTSBURGH, Business Events, and SportsPITTSBURGH teams, ensuring brand consistency across all materials.
  • Stay current on design and multimedia trends to continually enhance the organization’s creative impact.

Skills & Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in design and/or multimedia production (internships or agency experience welcome)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar)
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and other presentation software
  • Strong photography and video production/editing skill
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday.com) to track tasks, deadlines, and workflows
  • Experience with image management or digital asset management systems (e.g., Image Relay) for organizing, tagging, and retrieving creative assets
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Creative thinker with a collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn
  • Individual must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s license and credentials for traveling by air both domestically and internationally.
  • Willingness to occasionally work non-traditional hours to meet creative deadlines, capture content, and campaign launches, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

This role is exempt and operates under a hybrid schedule, with a minimum of 3 days in-office required; however, flexibility to be in office or on-site in other locations more frequently is expected.
