About the role Position Responsibilities Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator will be responsible for the operation and inspection of various systems and equipment as assigned. Normally, their assigned areas will include the boilers and associated systems such as fans, grates, air pollution control equipment, ash systems and water treatment equipment.
Key Responsibilities - Recording data on systems around the Plant.
- Reporting equipment malfunctions; including identifying trends.
- Respond to the direction of Control Room/Supervisor to correct operating conditions.
- Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
- Operating the refuse cranes and various pieces of heavy equipment such as forklifts and front end loaders.
Qualifications - GED/HS Diploma
- 1-3 years previous experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment or industrial process equipment as found in a refinery or chemical processing facilities
- Ability to demonstrate how your actions support Reworld Values and Behaviors, including Safe and Inclusive Workplace, Delivering Results through Trust and Building Breakthrough Capabilities.
- Water treatment/chemistry experience is a plus.
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus.
Physical Demands - Walk, stand, sit, climb and be able to handle temperature changes including extreme heat.
- Be able to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
Shift Work : 5 shifts on, 2 shifts off, 2 shifts on, 5 shifts off, rotating 12-hour days/nights.
